The hotel was in a good location for the old and new town. The staff were friendly and helpful and facilities were good The pool was essential for respite against the heat of the city and was well used. The hotel was, as they cliche says, 'an oasis of calm.' Like all the riads, it is an alley off a larger road, but easy to find once you know the road.
There was a charge of 10% for using a credit card which I did not know about until I was settling up at the end of the stay.
A lovely traditional riad, a haven of tranquility in a very busy local area of the medina. The staff were paricularly friendly and always helpfull and curteous. Individually decorated rooms, comfortable and clean. They helped with our cases to and from the airport transfer drop- off point which was a couple of minutes walk from the riad, as the lane was too narrow for our taxi. Mint tea and pastries on our arrival was a nice touch. Alcohol also available at a reasonable cost. Nice continental breakfast served by the small pool, which was an additional bonus at such a small riad. The riad is located right in the middle of the old medina, with all the sights, sounds (and smells) you would expect. But we loved the experience and made us appreciate what we have back home in the uk. We always felt very safe walking back through the medina late at night.
Nothing really, it was better than we expected and good value. Ok, so one small winge was the lack of a door or partition between the bedroom and bathroom (Jasmin). Not really a big problem for us, but occasionally it is nice to have a bit of privacy and some visitors may not like it. Our friends room had a small screen, so no problem for them.
We found the Riad to be very relaxing and welcoming place to return to after a busy day in the markets and sights of Marrakech. The staff were very helpful and friendly and could not do enough for you,we were offered food, drink and a massage if needed although we only took the option of food and drink which was very nice and well served.Breakfast was a good start to the day being a good mix of moroccan and continental, the evening meal we had on the first day was most enjoyable,we had tangines of various kinds. The terrace sun beds and covered seating area were a comfortable and a quiet retreat in the afternoon and early evening. Each of the bedrooms we had were comfortable and well appointed, the air conditioning was helpful at times, some of our party would have preferred a door on the bathroom entrance(we had a fringe curtain) but it all added to the experience. Our overall impression was that it was an oasis in the middle of a typical marrakech backstreet.
The only thing was our initial impression on walking to the Riad, which was the immediate experience of the marrakech backstreet life,it was a bit of a culture shock but you get used to it and it added a great deal to the whole experince
Small, intimate, very quiet, beautifully-designed riad very close to the Souks and the smells and sounds, life and soul of this wonderful city. Tiny but delightful bedroom and bathroom, good breakfast. Very helpful, English-speaking female Manager.
Friendly staff but unclear communication. On arrival it would be good to be given information as to who can make reservations for trips/restaurants etc, I.E. The Manager. We had a problem with someone in the Riad not making a reservation on our behalf but this probably would have been done correctly if we had known at that time who the Manager was!.
well positioned in lively area within easy walking distance of all the sights. An oasis of tranquility in the hubub that is Marrakech. Delightful staff and we really enjoyed the good breakfast in the calm atmosphere around the pool.
we could not make the front door key work - but staff were always on hand to open the door with a welcoming smile.
Great location, clean, comfortable with friendly and helpful staff and highly recomended.
The Riad is really very pretty and has a wonderful calm, relaxing atmosphere. Everyone there was extremely kind and helpful.
The manageress and the staff were friendly and made me feel very welcome. Although there is not a restaurant, meals when ordered were excellent.
The fact that the staff, apart from the manageress, do not speak English and that my French is negligible caused a few problems.
The kindness of the staff and the tranquility of the Riad. The breakfast was great! The riad is not on the main part of the medina but it allows you to travel on less know streets, which is a rich experience. Djema el Fna is in a 10 to 15 minutes walking distance.
The setting is really beautiful, perfect for a couple on vacation. Also, the hotel is halfway between of the Medina and the modern city so the location is very central to see the different sites. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful, comfortable Riad with pleasant helpful staff who help with organising itiniary provide local information and book restaurant reservations for you.The continental breakfasts served in the courtyard are excellent, all produce fresh and sourced locally. Evening meals are also delicious. Ideal location for exploring old or new town and there are plenty of taxis to whisk your restaurant or night club in the evening. We had a morrocan feast in the old town recommended by the riad which we enjoyed but tended to explore the old town by day and new by night.
We liked everything about our Marrakech adventure but it is a bit of a cultural shock when you arrive in your taxi at the local meat and vegetable market complete with donkeys and flying scooters. However have faith and trust the local boys to guide you safely to your Riad. It will only take a day or so for you to adjust to your new environment. This is not a suitable location for young children who would be much happier in a modern hotel in Palmeria etc.
The location was perfect, just inside the Medina. It was a very relaxing oasis to come back to after the hectic city of Marrakesh.
Swimming pool - super staff - room - quiet
The riad is beautiful even better than pictures. Staff were lovely and very friendly. I would definately recommend the riad! Beautiful, relaxed, clean and a very big pool for a riad. Very good location for the medina and the new city. Air con worked like a dream! (August visit 48 degress on day) Thanks - Becky and Ryan
Beautiful atmosphere, fantastic staff, nothing was too much trouble, certainly would stay again...
